Kate Aldinger, account director
Kate brings more than nine years of public relations and marketing experience to fama PR, which she joined in late 2003. She has managed PR programs for numerous clients including Corel, Computer Associates, A123Systems, VidSys, Imprivata, ITA Software and EnvoyWorldWide.
Prior to joining fama PR, Kate worked at FitzGerald Communications for more than four years. There, she provided daily public relations account support to her clients. Her responsibilities included driving media and analyst relations programs, providing strategic counsel to support her clients' product launches and overall communications initiatives, and developing a wide variety of associated written materials. During her years at FitzGerald, Kate worked on clients including Texas Instruments, Workbrain, LoJack, Platypus Technology, Circles, Microsoft Great Plains, ScanSoft, NMS Communications, Lavastorm, Converge and Eastman Software.
Kate has previously donated time to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Central New England Chapter, providing public relations support.
Prior to FitzGerald, Kate worked in the marketing department of The Bryn Mawr Trust Company in Pennsylvania. Her public relations experience also includes media relations in Villanova University's Athletic Department.
Keri Bertolino, vice president
Keri has worked with clients in the high-technology and consumer technology markets for the past nine years. As a vice president at fama PR, her responsibilities include strategy, planning, managing day-to-day account activities and driving results-oriented media and analyst relations programs.
Prior to joining fama PR in 2004, Keri worked within the Technology portfolio at PAN Communications. At PAN, Keri managed the daily activities on her programs, providing strategic counsel to her clients and team members. She was also responsible for intensive media relations with top-tier trade and business press. During her time at PAN Communications, Keri worked with clients such as Breakaway Solutions, eRoom Technology, LogicaCMG, Rand McNally, SilverStream/Novell, and Starent Networks.
Keri began her career at Rogers Communications in Wakefield, where she worked on a number of high-technology programs including international consortia such as the ASP Industry Consortium and the Personalization Consortium.
Keri has served on the Board of Directors for the Publicity Club of New England, the region's oldest professional organization for public relations, communications, special events, and marketing professionals.
She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Liz Campbell, vice president
With ten years of public relations experience, Liz has worked with start-up and established companies across multiple service, technology and healthcare sectors. At fama PR, Liz is responsible for strategy, planning, managing day-to-day account activities, and driving successful media and analyst relations programs. Representative clients include Courion, Neolane, Symphony Services, ITA Software and Symphony Metreo.
Prior to joining fama PR, Liz worked with boutique high-tech PR firm The Portico Group in Lexington, Mass. where she led several successful company, product and service launches as well as focused thought leadership and customer case study programs. Additionally, she has experience in crisis communications, and website content and marketing collateral development. Representative clients included Advanced Technology Ventures (ATV), Bio-IT World magazine, Endius, International Data Group (IDG) and Mainspring (acquired by IBM).
Previously with Miller/Shandwick Technologies (now Weber/Shandwick), Liz managed and implemented successful domestic and international public relations programs for public and private technology companies including Aavid Thermal Technologies, Cabletron, Cambridge Technology Partners (CTP), Dow Jones Interactive, Inso, Mirror Image Internet, Open Connect, Progress Software and Vanstar/Inacom.
Liz earned a dual B.S. degree in marketing and advertising from Syracuse University and currently volunteers her time to help run the Robert F. Campbell Jr. Memorial Hockey Tournament to benefit leukemia research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She has also provided public relations support to The Guidance Center, a non-profit family services organization in Cambridge, Mass.
Eleanor Crow, account director
Eleanor brings a decade of experience in public relations and analyst relations within the hi-tech and consumer technology industries. Most recently serving as Director at Citigate Cunningham, Eleanor successfully ran Citigate's East Coast office, managing all local accounts including HCL Technologies, E*TRADE, InterSense and Fi-Tek.
Prior to this, she spent 11 years living in San Francisco working with some of the most influential brands in and around Silicon Valley. During her tenure at Bite Communications, Eleanor worked with such clients as Sun Microsystems, Siebel Systems, Brocade, Wind River, BEA Systems and OpenWave. Most recently, Eleanor had the privilege of acting as internal PR and AR lead for Sun Microsystems' Global Sales and Services BU, working closely with Sun's internal marketing and executive teams on many broad scale global communications initiatives.
Before joining Bite, Eleanor worked as a marketing communications consultant, helping start-ups and emerging technology companies improve their market and competitive positioning. Clients included Sharper Image, SKYY Vodka, Moogul Networks and Taproot Foundation.
Eleanor began her PR career at Fleishman-Hillard, helping clients such as J.D. Edwards, Ariba, Yahoo!, Entrust Technologies and Metricom build brand awareness and improve their global market presence.
Eleanor graduated from Denison University with a BA in English.
Jeffrey Cutler, director, new media
Jeffrey brings a broad range of high-tech, marketing, and start-up experience to his role as Director of New Media. Prior to joining fama PR, Jeffrey worked as the head of marketing at Diningin.com. As the head of marketing, he led all aspects of product development, brand management, online marketing, and communications for the online food delivery service.
Prior to Diningin.com Jeffrey served as Director of Business Development at 211me Inc., an early stage mobile entertainment company. He was responsible for all efforts relating to strategic development and customer acquisition. Most notably, he orchestrated strategic partnerships with National Amusement and Showcase Live, and worked with partner Viacom Company/Paramount Pictures.
Before joining 211me Inc., Jeffrey worked at Going.com (acquired by AOL), a venture backed Boston-based start-up company. As one of the first employees at Going.com, he invested much of his time developing online and offline membership acquisition strategies. He executed a variety of high-profile events working closely with celebrity talent including actress Hilary Duff, rapper Common, and gossip blogger Perez Hilton. These efforts generated new members for the website along with profitable revenue streams. During his time at Going.com Jeffrey met with leading interactive agencies throughout the country and had the opportunity to work with nationally recognized brands including JetBlue, Miller Lite, Stoli vodka, Malibu, and Heineken.
Jeffrey received his BA from Wheaton College and his Master's in Integrated Marketing Communication from Emerson College. He is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Business Administration at Northeastern University.
Sandy Dawkins, account director
Sandy Dawkins brings ten years of experience in high technology public relations. At fama PR, Sandy works on identity management and online services accounts, such as Courion Corporation, Imprivata, Sedo and 1&1 Internet. Her responsibilities include strategic client counsel, media and industry analyst relations, and event management.
Prior to joining fama PR, Sandy worked with Citigate Cunningham as a senior manager, specializing in thought leadership and c-level executive visibility programs for outsourcing and telecommunications companies, including HCL Technologies and NeuStar.
Sandy also held account service positions at Manning Selvage & Lee, Tiziani Whitmyre and Porter Novelli, and represented NetTest, C-COR, IDG World Expo, Invensys Production Solutions, Speedline Technologies, BMC Software, Hewlett Packard OpenView Software, Staples, and Best Buy.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Boston University.
Jeff Drew, vice president
With more than a decade of media relations experience in the areas of high-technology, healthcare and public policy, Jeff has worked with a variety of clients from the semiconductor, professional services, wireless, enterprise software, human resources, security, marketing and consumer device industries. Throughout his career, he has managed programs for clients such as Agency.com, AmberWave, Dassault Systemes, experience Inc., Imprivata, Konica, Lavastorm, Liquid Machines, MatrixOne, Motia, Newbridge Networks, Novo, Sapient, Symphony Services, Tallan, Texas Instruments and Workbrain.
Prior to joining fama PR, Jeff was an account manager at FitzGerald Communications, where he was responsible for driving the communications strategy behind his accounts, managing his internal client teams and placing high-level business press and technology media coverage. In addition to his account work there, Jeff also donated time to running a local awareness and public relations campaign for the Carroll School, a Lincoln, MA-based school for children with language-based learning differences.
Prior to FitzGerald, Jeff was an account executive at Professional Media Services, Inc., a full-service public relations/marketing company based in Newton, MA. While there, he ran a national public awareness campaign for the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), which included the placement of commentary and coverage in national publications and the development, production and nationwide placement of public service announcements.
A graduate of Holy Cross, Jeff began his career as the media liaison and legislative advisor to Massachusetts State Senator Marc R. Pacheco before embarking on a full-time career in public relations.
Matt Flanagan, founding partner
Matt brings a broad range of tech PR experience that spans a wide spectrum of industries to his role as a founding partner. Prior to co-founding fama PR, Matt was with FitzGerald Communications, a Boston-based hi-tech PR firm (ultimately acquired by OmniCom's Brodeur WorldWide), where he was responsible for developing and managing core communications programs for his account teams. In addition, he was responsible for the day-to-day management of his accounts as well as providing strategic counsel to his clients for a variety of situations. While at FitzGerald Communications, Matt serviced such flagship clients as Microsoft Great Plains, Ericsson, MRO Software, Manugistics, Excel Switching Corp., GTE Internetworking (now Genuity,) and Authentica.
Before joining FitzGerald Communications, Matt spent time with the Boston Phoenix as a member of its promotions department. There, he was responsible for producing creative content for print and radio advertisements, as well as planning and executing on-site promotions for various Boston Phoenix clients.
Doug Fraim, vice president
Doug brings more than a decade of high-tech public relations experience to the fama PR team, working at leading agencies in the Boston area. Over this period he has developed a thorough expertise in both established and emerging industries including security (Identity and Access Management and anti-spyware solutions), online/mobile advertising and marketing, healthcare (practice management & EMR solutions), Web 2.0 (social networking and enterprise RSS solutions), telecommunications (location-based services, speech recognition, VoIP), open source, enterprise storage and software-as-a-service-based collaboration, CRM and governance, risk and compliance (GRC).
As an Account Director, Doug delivers complete PR services including day-to-day account strategy, traditional/digital media and industry analyst relations, comprehensive written communications (press releases, PR plans, bylined articles and key messaging documents), speaker's bureau and awards programs.
Prior to joining fama PR, Doug was an account director at Racepoint Group, a leading global public relations agency with special expertise in digital media relations. Doug began his public relations career at Schwartz Communications, one of the nation's leading public relations agencies focused on the high-technology, medical device, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
Select companies that Doug has served to date include Carestream Health (formerly Kodak Health Group), Sapient, HipCricket, Imprivata, QuickPlay Media, uLocate, MIVA, EqualLogic (acquired by Dell), SpeechWorks (acquired by ScanSoft), Wildfire, Axentis, Optaros, Attensa, webMethods, Chitika, athenahealth, Intranets.com (acquired by WebEx) and Salesnet (acquired by RightNow).
Doug received his BA from Skidmore College and his Master's in Communication from Boston University.
Ed Harrison, managing partner
Ed has been doing tech PR since 1996, having honed his trade while rising through the ranks at Schwartz Communications and SparkSource (now Davies Murphy Group). He has a proven track record leading programs for clients in a broad range of markets and technologies, including online and mobile marketing; enterprise technology such as PLM, data quality, predictive analytics and business intelligence; consumer technology; and network infrastructure and security. Like everyone else at fama PR, Ed is a PR generalist, but beyond account leadership he is particularly active in the industry analyst and blog-relations programs for his clients.
In his time at fama PR, he's worked on the company's largest accounts, Carestream Health (the former Kodak Health Group), Computer Associates, Corel Corporation, Dassault Systèmes and Sapient, as well as many of its important emerging-growth companies. Historical clients have included Crossbeam Systems, Enterasys Networks, Lycos, Progress Software, SPSS and Sterling Commerce.
Ed entered the world of high-tech PR after serving as public relations director for Disabled Sports USA, a national non-profit organization providing sports and recreation for people with disabilities. He also worked with the U.S. Olympic Committee as a media attaché at the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games.
Like his partners and, for that matter, much of fama PR, Ed is a native of the Bay State, having grown up in Central Massachusetts, and now resides in West Newton with his wife and two sons. He attended the George Washington University and remains a proud Colonial.
Brian Merrill, vice president
During his career, Brian has developed and managed strategic communications campaigns for clients in the high tech and consumer markets, focusing on security, enterprise software and clean technology. Prior to joining fama PR in 2003, Brian spent three years at FitzGerald Communications, a Boston-based public relations firm acquired by OmniCom's Brodeur WorldWide.
At FitzGerald, Brian was responsible for managing the day to day activities of his accounts, planning communications strategies and securing high-level business and technology press media coverage. While at FitzGerald Communications, Brian serviced clients such as MRO Software, ScanSoft, TyCom, and Allaire/Macromedia.
Prior to FitzGerald, Brian was the director of media relations for the Eastern Basketball Alliance, a 10-team NBA developmental league based on the East Coast. During his tenure, Brian spear-headed community relations and the League's charitable endeavors, while securing high profile media coverage to further recognition of the league.
In addition to his account work, Brian contributes his time to "Keeping You, Me and Memories Alive", a New Hampshire-based breast cancer awareness charity whose goal is to raise funds for cancer victims and their families.
Michael Reilly, account director
Mike Reilly began his career in high-tech PR in 2000 and joined fama PR in 2004. He has served and managed clients in a number of industries such as enterprise software, telecom, healthcare and Web services. His clients at fama PR have included Alcatel, General Catalyst Partners, HighRoads (formerly IE-Engine) and Intuit QuickBase.
Prior to joining fama PR, he spent a year at PAN Communications working mostly with companies in the security and outsourcing industries. His clients at PAN included companies such as Tyco, Viisage, OutStart, EPAM Systems and MaXware. Mike was responsible for managing media relations campaigns, providing counsel to clients on media activities, and writing articles contributed to business and trade publications on behalf of his clients.
Before joining PAN, Mike spent nearly four years at Blanc & Otus (a Hill & Knowlton company) working with both large and small organizations such as Compaq (pre-merger), Hewlett-Packard (post-merger), Sony PlayStation, Interwise, Altio and Airvana. In addition to media activities at Blanc & Otus, Mike supported other marketing initiatives for his clients by writing customer testimonials and case studies and helping produce marketing videos.
Mike holds a bachelor of science in communication, with a concentration in public relations, from Boston University.
Keith Watson, founding partner
With a blend of agency and corporate experience, Keith has worked in high technology PR for more than a decade. Prior to co-founding fama PR in 2002, Keith spent five years at FitzGerald Communications, a Boston-based public relations firm that was later part of OmniCom's Brodeur WorldWide. At FitzGerald, Keith was responsible for developing and delivering strategic counsel and planning for clients, securing high-level media results, overall account and team management and business development for the firm. Keith also helped establish and grow FitzGerald's biotech practice. Accounts Keith managed include: Allaire/Macromedia, Lernout & Hauspie, Incentive Systems, iQVC, Newell Rubbermaid, General Catalyst and Sapient.
Prior to FitzGerald, Keith worked at Schwartz Communications, then one of the nation's fastest-growing technology PR firms. At Schwartz, he was responsible for account management and execution and serviced technology accounts including Avid, NewsEdge Corp. Kollmorgen and HPR. Before entering the agency world, Keith worked at Object Management Group, where he was one of the founding members of the marketing team and responsible for generating awareness and understanding for the concept of open systems and object technology. A key responsibility was the marketing and public relations efforts of the Object World Tradeshow Series, which OMG successfully sold to Softbank Comdex in 1995.
Keith is a graduate of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.
